The Management of Master Moulders International Academy made adequate preparation for the competition which held on 18th June 2021.
In attendance were Mercy Nzebuka (Jss 1) and seven other Grade four pupils ( Akinyele Irewola, Ikanone Gabriel, Osagie Ebegue, Oladele Judah, Nzebuka Emmanuel, Greatness Benson, and Akinlade Tife Ryan ). Two staff (Mr Benjamin and Ms Juliet) were appointed to convey the spellers to the venue.
The journey began at exactly 6:38 AM for security and safety reasons. There was heavy gridlock on the road. However, the team arrived at the venue at 10:38 AM.
Accreditation was immediately carried out, and the spellers were ushered into the hall for the first round of the competition.
The organizers of the spelling bee outlined the rules and guidelines to the spellers.
After the first round, Mercy Nzebuka from junior secondary qualified for the second round of the competition. She correctly spelt two out of the three words given.
At the end of the second round, a certificate of participation was issued to all the spellers who couldn’t go to the next round. The spellers were euphoric at the exposure and competitive atmosphere of the whole event.
It was indeed a wonderful experience for both the student/pupils and staff of Master Moulders International Academy, as this competition served as a meeting point of interaction with other schools.
The competition came to an end at about 2:58 PM. Photographs were taken and the pupils/student were conveyed to their various homes by the school bus.
